Who We Are

Since its founding, Zann Enclosures has been devoted to meeting the needs of sound professionals all over the region with some of the finest craftsmanship in the industry. 

In 1993 William “Zann” Richards, started out by supplying local electronic stores in the Brooklyn, New York area with carpeted cabinets of varying designs that he would come up with. A&S Stereo was one of Zann’s first customers, purchasing products like record cases, and eventually different types of “Folded Horn Cabinet” designs. 

Zann’s passion for the music business started at a young age of 16 while on summer vacation in Trinidad of the West Indies. One of his relatives (Victor Wharton), owned a local sound reinforcement company and was “reconing” speakers, the process immediately sparked the interest. After a series of questions and a short lesson, Victor decided to give him a few speakers to take home to experiment with. 

The concept of enclosures and how they can shape sound, feel, and throw distance rattled Zann.  In the following weeks he started building his first three way system, which included components like Piezo Tweeters , 8″,  and 12″ speakers. After playing his home build system for friends and family, Zann started drawing the attention of outsiders and after one week landed his first sale.

Zann Enclosure is a  USA  base Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) Company, which provides service both locally and internationally. Zann Enclosure systems are owned by some of the top name Sound Reinforcement Companies such as Johnny Q Sound, Trinidad WI., Renaissance Sound, Jamaica W.I., Fusion Sound, Guyana W.I., Majesty Sound System, USA, AMZ Productions, Brazil, and the list goes on. Zann’s systems can be also found in Houses of Worship, Football Training Camps, Night Clubs, and Cruise Ships.
